Food Fortification is a cost-effective strategy to reduce the incidence of micronutrient malnutrition highly prevalent in large segments of Indian population.
The role of Food Safety Officers (FSOs)/Designated Officers (DOs) is critical for the promotion of fortification by encouraging and facilitating food businesses to help fortify their products.
FSOs/DOs can also help connect the businesses with the Food Fortification Resource Centre, a resource hub to help provide end to end technical support for converting their range to fortified products.
